I would just like to suggest that a few things be made to allow more content in the game, or even just improve the quality of the content currently in the game by changing a few things.
#1 would be having in game options that allow us to choose how many in game models the game will load.
At the high end we get all the models we get now, at the low end all weapons and dropsuits will be associated with the same skin/model. So instead of basic/advanced/proto and some special BPO's with different default skin types, each weapon and dropsuit in the game would use the same skin/model as the basic level version of it.
#2 delay the time between when the match loads to the deployment screen, and when we can actually deploy. Allow for enough time for even the default PS3 hard drive to have loaded everything it needs to load before people can start deploying. As it is currently, players with a SSD will load all the textures and whatnot faster than those with a normal hard drive, so they can spawn in faster. Allowing all systems enough time to load everything before people are allowed to choose where to spawn in would level this playing field, and possibly help with some of the lag we get when the spawn in timer reaches zero but then we dont spawn in until maybe 5 seconds later.
#3 reduce the size of each team to either 12 players per side or 8 players per side in public matches.
#4 more options for model poly-count and or resolution or whatnot. I know there are lower resolution or memory size models of socket modules and whatnot because when you run to an area before the models have been fully loaded you will see the lower quality version of it, and can even run ontop of the lower quality version of it before the higher quality one pops in. Just give us the option to allow the game to only load the lower quality version, at least if it takes up less memory and or would help with in game performance by lowering the demand on the system somehow.
#5 let us turn off environmental effects, skybox effects, reflections, whatever else other extra stuff that makes the game prettier but might put more strain on the ps3, I want the game to PLAY well, dont care if it LOOKS well.
I really wouldn't mind the game looking like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laVpV1PFziw as long as it flowed as smoothly as that game does.
With how dust currently performs, the memory and processing demands on the system lead to loading lag, system lag, and you'd sometimes even get internet lag. I know I for one dont care about "lolz HD graphics so pretty!" if it means the game plays worse for it. |
